McLaren Automotive is to strengthen its global reach further with the appointment of a new retail partner in Taiwan – the 24th global market for the British sports car brand. The announcement marks the company’s 40th retail location, and comes less than 18 months since the first retailer, McLaren London, was opened and continues the on-going strategic network development plan.

Yun San Motors, as a fully serviced importer and seller of exclusive sports cars, has been selected to represent the British brand in Taiwan, operating as McLaren Taipei. This latest addition to the McLaren network will be the 40th retailer for McLaren Automotive, and will begin selling the 12C and recently launched 12C Spider from a new, state-of-the-art facility early in 2013.

Ian Gorsuch, McLaren Automotive’s Regional Director for Asia Pacific, said: “We had several applicants wanting to be the McLaren dealer in Taiwan and we spent a long time meeting the candidates several times as well as desk top research to determine who would be the best partner. One of the crucial deciders was who shared our views of success – customer satisfaction and retention. After all the research and meetings we are happy to appoint Yun San Motors to not only be our dealer partner but to launch McLaren in Taiwan”.

Timothy Chang, Chairman of Yun San Motors, said: “Yun San is extremely pleased to be part of the McLaren global retailer network. We share the same philosophy with the iconic McLaren brand, focusing on customer service and owners’ overall experience. With our long-term business plan and exciting McLaren products, we are thrilled to be the exclusive dealer partner in Taiwan after the selection process.”

With the announcement of McLaren Taipei, McLaren Automotive is now represented in 24 markets globally. Following the recent announcement of McLaren Jakarta, the brand is present in seven locations across the Asia Pacific region: Taipei, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and represented by McLaren Tokyo and McLaren Osaka in Japan.
