Classic Car Bonanza: 50+ No-Reserve Gems Hit the Auction Block

1967 Mercedes Benz 250SL

Classic car enthusiasts, rev up your engines! An extraordinary opportunity awaits at H&H Classics’ upcoming auction in Buxton. On July 24, more than 50 classic cars will cross the block with no reserve, offering potential bargains for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

This remarkable sale, held at the picturesque Pavilion Gardens, showcases an eclectic mix of automotive history. From a stately 1929 Armstrong Siddeley 15hp Coachbuilt Saloon to a sporty 2005 Renault Mégane Renault Sport 225, the auction caters to diverse tastes and budgets.

But that’s not all – an additional 70 vehicles, valued at over £1.7 million, will also be up for grabs. Damian Jones, director of H&H Classics, enthuses, “Our Buxton sales always have a fantastic atmosphere, but we’re expecting this auction to reach new heights given the number of no-reserve cars on offer.”

Highlights include:

  1. A meticulously restored 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL (estimate: £100,000-120,000), boasting 50 years of single ownership and a celebrity past.
  2. A matching-numbers 1958 Jaguar XK150SE 3.4 Litre Drophead Coupe (estimate: £80,000-100,000), fresh from a comprehensive restoration.
  3. For the brave, a 1967 Aston Martin DB6 project car (estimate: £80,000-100,000) – a diamond in the rough waiting to be polished.
  4. One of the finest 1959 Ford Zephyr MkIIs in existence (estimate: £22,000-26,000), restored to concours standards.
  5. A time-capsule 1995 MG RV8 with just 2,300 km on the clock (estimate: £28,000-32,000).

Adding a personal touch to the proceedings is the vast collection of the late David Lucas, a beloved figure in the classic car community. His assemblage of over 40 vehicles, from cars to commercial vehicles and tractors, represents a lifetime of passion for the road less traveled.

Whether you’re a seasoned collector or a first-time buyer, this auction promises something for everyone. Viewing begins on July 23 at noon, with the main event kicking off at 1 pm on July 24. Bidding options include in-person, online, telephone, and commission bids.
