TomTom has introduced its new traffic information service HD Traffic 6.0 into the UK. Avoiding traffic jams will be a lot easier, since this new service can detect traffic jams five times more accurately than previous versions.
The traffic information offered by TomTom HD Traffic 6.0 is fifteen times as accurate as the prevailing Traffic Message Channels (TMC) available through other navigators. Furthermore TomTom will also detect, in real-time, road blocks and road works – even if these haven’t been reported by official sources. Tests show that TomTom HD Traffic 6.0 recognises up to 65% more blocked roads.
TomTom HD Traffic was recently accredited by TÜV SÜD Group – one of the world’s leading technical services organisations – for providing highly accurate and precise jam information on motorways and main roads.
HD Traffic 6.0 is available as part of TomTom LIVE Services. Customers who already have LIVE Services will receive an automatic, free update to HD Traffic 6.0.
