Ford Ranger Grabs Another 2013 ‘Pick-Up Of The Year’ Award

Ford Ranger

The Ford Ranger has won 4×4 Magazine Pick-Up of the Year 2013, making it a record-breaking seventh award in 12 months for the vehicle.

The UK pick-up market has grown by more than 25 per cent since 2009, with eight models currently competing in the segment. The Ford Ranger has emerged victorious from a group of seven vehicles reviewed – the most comprehensive pick-up test 4×4 Magazine has ever conducted.

Nigel Fryatt, 4×4 Magazine Editor, said: “Ford’s new Ranger has significantly raised the bar in the pick-up market. Our extensive test showed the variety of products that are now on the UK market, and the Ranger topped them all with better overall ability, superb ride quality and an interior that makes it hard to believe this is a commercial vehicle. Indeed, no other pick-up came close in terms of interior comfort and specification.”

Ford UK managing director, Mark Ovenden, said: “The awards keep on coming for the Ford Ranger as it continues to assert its presence in the market. Our customers have really welcomed the introduction of the all-new model, boosting sales by nearly 20 per cent compared with last year.”
